The Kindy Room program follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Australian Curriculum. The program is structured around the Centres philosophy, it is play based learning, following the children’s interests, strengths, and needs, families and the community. The children lead the way in their learning.
The children’s individual and group learning experiences are documented in the program and from this documentation we as Educators are able to build on individual strengths, interests and needs of each child; whilst still continuously providing children with opportunities to participate in self-initiated play. The Kindy children also participate in learning experiences that help them in developing those school-readiness skills, getting them ready for that transition; providing them with literacy, numeracy and inquiry-based learning activities that reflect the overall curriculum. All children have an individual portfolio folder that is an ongoing documentation of their development and learning of their time at the Centre. In the portfolio are samples of their work, learning stories, photos, goals and achievements as individuals and as a whole group.
